Periodically we set aside a day to schedule home visits. These visits are by appointment only (706) 671-1104. Home visits are primarily intended for multi-pet clients, disabled or elderly people who have difficulty getting around, for people who just cannot get their pet to a vet or multiple people scheduling a day in a neighborhood. Surgeries will not be performed at home visits.
Pricing The price of an in-home veterinary visit is based on your distance from our soon-to-be clinic at the very southern end of Dalton and what services will be performed. While you are setting up your appointment, we will discuss the costs associated with travel, veterinarian visit, and services you need. The more information we have ahead of time, the better our estimate will be. If we are visiting a sick animal, once we are at your house and have checked out your pet, we may recommend additional procedures, diagnostics, and/or medications. We will discuss these costs before doing anything. Because travel time is one component of the visit cost, we can discount a portion of the costs if we have 2 or more visits in your neighborhood. So, be sure to ask your neighbors if their pets need any vaccines or other medical help!
The base price for a visit fee is $45. This is the cost for travel within 20 min as well as a general exam for 1 pet or the time to vaccinate all your pets. Please contact us for the cost for travel to a location further away.
General Exams An exam for 1 pet is included in the Visit Fee. This can be an Annual Wellness Exam or a Sick Pet Exam. However, you may have multiple pets or need some variety of services. The following is a general guideline of prices and what may be involved, but for a more accurate estimate, please contact us via phone or email to discuss your specific situation. Annual Wellness Exam - We highly recommend you have your pets examined by a veterinarian at least once a year. This exam includes a full body exam (depending on how much your pet tolerates) - eyes, ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, abdomen, kidneys, bladder, rectal, lymph nodes, skin/coat, joints, general vitals. We will also do a heartworm test (dogs, $10) once a year so we can provide heartworm prevention and make sure we catch heartworm disease early. We can discuss any concerns and will probably recommend some form of flea/tick prevention. Sick Pet Exam - If your pet isn't acting normally, has a cough, goopey eyes, is scratching, etc., we will come to your home and examine your pet for the issue you are having. Some diseases may need bloodwork done or antibiotics given. Some diseases will have a more natural progression. There are so many possibilities, and we can discuss this when you make your appointment. Multiple Pets - If you're like us, you have MANY pets!! If you have multiple pets needing vaccines, there is no extra fee besides the initial visit fee plus the cost of the vaccines. If you have multiple pets needing exams, we offer discounted wellness exams and discounted sick pet exams. In general, the additional pet exam fee is $25, but this also depends on your specific situation. Please let us discuss this with you!
